Summer Playground Dates

Dear Families,

I cannot believe our first year together is coming to a close. It has been a wonderful year of kindergarten. I thank you all for sharing your children, and your talents, in so many ways.

Our class will loop to first grade together. We will stay in Room 7, and look forward to many days of exciting learning together.

In order to stay in touch, we will have a few “Playground Days” this summer. These days are designed to keep us connected, and to catch up in those summer months. We will plan on meeting on the upper playground, and if the weather is not cooperative, we will meet in the classroom.

Please set aside these playground dates and times:
Wednesday, June 29th 10:00 am-11:00 am.
Monday, July 25th 4:00pm -5:00pm
Tuesday, August 23rd 10:00 am-11:00am

Enjoy your  children, and enjoy your summer days together!
Remember to read each day!
Peace, Susan

Erosion

We spent some time this week discussing the recent flooding in Montpelier. Many students had stories to tell. There were some fantastic stories and drawings too. I will try to post them here as well.
We walked the route we normally take to Hubbard Park, and discovered a big washout. The road had been moved down the hill to a front lawn!

Fairy House Friday and Gnome Homes Too

On Friday this week our class will visit the forest at Harrison Field to build Fairy Houses and Gnome Homes. To help us prepare, we will watch a documentary movie entitled: "Kristen's Fairy House". It is  about a child who travels with her aunt, an artist, to Monhegan Island, ME to learn about the forest, its creatures and the magic of the island's tradition of fairy house building.
If you and your child have any books about fairies, fairy houses, gnomes or gnome homes, please go ahead and send them in to share.

We welcome all families to come along! Join us Friday morning, we'd love to have you! Estimated departure time is 9:00.
