Field Trip to East Montpelier

We had a great visit with our pen pals. We went to Fairmont Farm, a dairy farm with over 700 milking cows, and 2000 total cattle. We then returned to EMES for snack, and a visit to the outdoor classroom. Everyone enjoyed camouflage in the tall ferns. We returned to school for lunch and recess.  Then buddies worked on write thank you notes to Bonnie Hall, farm owner, and enjoyed popsicles together for Ethan's summer birthday celebration. Mrs. Zeilenga's class rocks!

for a picnic lunch
on Wednesday, June 13!

We will be in Hubbard park in the morning, and will travel through the park to Mrs. Koch’s house.

We plan to arrive at the picnic at 12:00 noon. We are hoping that all families can meet us at the house for a picnic and relaxed lunch.

(Mrs. Koch’s address is 35 Bailey Ave. It is a maple colored house on the right, when Bailey Ave becomes steep!)
The class has requested the following picnic foods:
sandwiches
watermelon
pizza (perhaps Max)
carrots and dip
bagels
biscuits(vegan ones that Jen makes)
crackers and cheese
grapes
We will also need drinks, cups and napkins and plates!

Please contact Berenice Sarafzade if you can contribute or help

I hope each family can make it for this luncheon together!

Community Service ECO Day in Hubbard Park

We will be "giving back" to Hubbard Park tomorrow. All first grade classes will be engaging in community service . There are five different projects, and your child has chosen a project that appeals to them. We will be planting and watering fruit trees, cleaning ditches, mulching trails, picking up trash and removing invasive  species such as burdock plants. Please help your child dress for the weather( it might be a a bit wet). We plan to have lunch in the park, and will return to school if it is too rainy. Please feel free to join us if you are able. We cannot wait to show Hubbard Park how thankful we are, and how much we care about this special part of our community.
