Story Walk

We traveled to the Kellogg Hubbard library to view the Story Walk posted around the library. The story was called "Mary Had A Little Lamp". Mary loved her little lamp and everywhere that Mary went her lamp was sure to go. Ask your child  what happened when Mary went to camp without her lamp. And then what did she become attached to? (a toaster). It was a wonderful way to share a story together, and Mrs. Burke was kind enough to join us for this little trip too.

 4. Where can I meet my child after the stage portion? Come pick up your child in the classroom, and follow the art show scavenger hunt located  in your program.

ECO in April

A field of snowdrops we saw on our way to Harrison.
We went to the forest to look for signs of spring. We also looked for helpful, and harmful items in the forest. We recorded these items in our "field notebooks" and then removed the harmful objects from the forest. It was a fantastic ECO day, as we explored our natural community, and discovered ways in which we could take care of our community.
All geared up, and ready to go!

Recording in "field notebooks."

Where did tis come from? A hawk?

Using the old bridge, as the new bridge is wobbly and unsafe.

A sign of spring
A few drips...

We have been exploring the concept of peace for the past several weeks. We have been reading about peace, describing peace, and learning many ways to share peace. We have even learned to say peace in many ways. On Friday, the class will have the opportunity to begin work on their individual peace tiles for the school wide project. Eventually, all tiles created by the UES community will be mounted together for a shared vision of peace.
