Each day, we use the Daily 5 menu to select literacy activities.
On Mondays we "shop" for new " just right books" to keep in book baskets. These readers provide opportunities for independent reading practice all week long.
"Reading with someone" is always fun!The first choices each day are "Read to self" and "Work on writing."
Kids are able to have small strategy group lessons at the round table as well.
It is so quiet in the classroom as literacy time provides opportunities to practice new strategies.
